FIAT'S Tecnico version of the best-selling Ducato has proved so popular that the company has extended the concept to other models in the commercial vehicle range.
The Ducato Tecnico is based on the Ducato 35 Van 2.3 Litre 130 MultiJet LWB.
A new Ducato Tecnico version based on the Ducato 30 Van 2.3 Litre 130 MultiJet II SWB (L1H1) is now available to order and once again features a wealth of attractive additional standard equipment. The additional standard equipment that Tecnico versions provide includes air conditioning, front fog lights, Blue&Me with steering wheel controls, TomTom predisposition on the dashboard, B&M TomTom Live navigator plus cradle, Start&Stop, special wheel trims, reverse parking sensors and eco:Drive Professional software.
Ducato Tecnico versions are now available to order in all pastel colours and for an additional Pounds 100 can be ordered with metallic paint.
Fiat is also extending the availability of the Tecnico version to the award-winning Doblo Cargo. The two versions are the Doblo Cargo Tecnico 1.3 MultiJet II 90hp and the Doblo Cargo MAXI Tecnico 1.6 MultiJet 105hp.
Doblo Cargo Tecnico versions are based on the SX version so the additional standard equipment includes air conditioning, Blue&Me with steering wheel controls, TomTom predisposition on the dashboard, B&M Tom-Tom Live navigator plus cradle, Start&Stop, reverse parking sensors and eco:Drive Professional software. When compared to the Ducato Tecnico versions, front fog lights and special wheel trims are already included in the standard equipment on the SX trim level for Doblo Cargo.
Both Ducato Tecnico and Doblo Cargo Tecnico versions are easily identifiable as they feature a Tecnico badge positioned on the rear door.
THE Doblo Cargo has picked up another important award, this time winning the Traders' Choice accolade in the latest Trade Van Driver (TVD) Magazine Awards.
This latest title completes a hat-trick for Fiat Professional in the TVD Magazine Awards and is in addition to the previously announced awards for Fiat Professional's Fiorino being named Best City Van and the Doblo Work Up winning Best Small Pick-Up.
The Trade Van Driver Awards are judged not only by the magazine but also by a panel of readers who use light commercial vehicles as part of their businesses.
Commenting on the award, magazine editor Matthew Eisenegger says: "We asked the traders on our judging panel which van was, in their opinion, the top choice for small business owners. The Fiat Doblo Cargo was their unanimous choice.
Stylish looks, a huge range of models, low running costs, rock solid reliability, superb drivability and great backup all added up to a vehicle that they felt just couldn't be beaten."
Fiat's Doblo Cargo was the first LCV to have a bi-link rear suspension which ensures a smooth ride, lower loading height and better width between wheelarches. Additionally, the bi-link suspension permits a rear axle load up to 1,450kg.
The Doblo Cargo sits on an all-new platform that makes it a class leader in all the areas that matter most to professional drivers. It has great carrying capacity in both weight and size terms: up to 1 ton payload and up to 5.0 m3 volume.
The award-winning loadcarrier is available with a choice of five low emissions, Euro 5-specification engines, and comes in several different forms combining dimensions, trim levels, engines and body types - Cargo, Cargo Maxi, Cargo SX, Cargo Tecnico, Cargo Maxi SX, Cargo Maxi Tecnico, Combi, Combi Maxi, Platform Cab, Work Up, and XL - to offer solutions for a wide spectrum of commercial vehicle users.
The engine line-up comprises four MultiJet diesels - 1.3 (90bhp), 1.6 (105bhp), 1.6 Comfort-Matic (90bhp) and 2.0 (135bhp) and a 1.4- litre 16v 95bhp petrol unit, providing best in class fuel consumption and CO2emissions.
Fiat says that these attributes make the Doblo Cargo the most versatile, efficient and best-performing van in its class.
