Er doet een nieuw model de rondte: het confluence floor model. Het claimt meer nauwkeurig te zijn dan het 200 weekly MA. En idd, de bodems worden heel mooi opgevangen door het model. Als het model houdt, zouden we nu snel omhoog kunnen gaan.

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De president van de Europese Centrale Bank, Christine Lagarde waarschuwt dat cryptomunten gereguleerd moeten worden. Dit zegt zij in een uitzending van het programma College Tour die zondag wordt uitgezonden en waarin zij de hoofdgast is.

"Wat me zorgen baart aan crypto, is dat er wordt geïnvesteerd door mensen die niet beseffen dat ze alles kwijt kunnen raken", aldus Lagarde, die refereert aan de recente waardedalingen van veel cryptomunten.

"Ik maak me zorgen om mensen die ervan uitgaan dat het ze iets oplevert, die de risico's niet kennen, alles kwijtraken en heel teleurgesteld zullen zijn", aldus de ECB-voorzitter.

"Daarom vind ik dat het gereguleerd moet worden."

En er is inderdaad heel veel vooruitgang sindsdien.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has explained why he does not own any bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. “I like investing in things that have valuable output,” Gates said, adding that crypto is “not adding to society like other investments.”

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates shared his opinion about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session Thursday.

One of the questions he was asked was “What do you think about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?” Gates replied:

I don’t own any. I like investing in things that have valuable output.

He added: “The value of companies is based on how they make great products. The value of crypto is just what some other person decides someone else will pay for it so not adding to society like other investments.”

Gates’ stance on cryptocurrency echoes that of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett. The Oracle of Omaha explained in detail why he would not invest in bitcoin or cryptocurrency earlier this month.

“It doesn’t produce anything,” Buffett described BTC, noting that he wouldn’t pay $25 for all of the bitcoin in the world. “What would I do with it? I’d have to sell it back to you one way or another. It isn’t going to do anything,” he opined.

The Microsoft co-founder and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has long been a critic of bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

In February last year, he said he didn’t own bitcoin, adding that he has taken “a neutral view.” However, he also said crypto was one tech innovation the world would be better off without. Gates noted: “The way cryptocurrency works today allows for certain criminal activities. It’d be good to get rid of that.”

Gates also commented on Tesla CEO Elon Musk owning bitcoin in February last year. “Elon has tons of money, and he’s very sophisticated, so I don’t worry that his bitcoin will randomly go up or down,” Microsoft co-founder said. “If you have less money than Elon, you should probably watch out,” he warned.

CFTC Chairman Confirms Bitcoin, Ether Are Commodities

The chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) says he is certain bitcoin and ether are commodities. He outlined how his agency is working with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to regulate the crypto sector, noting that “there are no customer protections right now in the crypto market.”

Bitcoin and Ether Are Commodities ‘For Sure’
CFTC Chairman Rostin Behnam discussed the regulation of cryptocurrencies by the CFTC and the SEC in an interview with CNBC last week.

The chairman was asked to comment on a bill in Congress that puts the SEC in charge of security tokens and the CFTC in charge of commodity tokens.

“This is a little bit of an age-old issue between the CFTC and the SEC. We have a great relationship historically … Within this space, in my view, it makes sense for commodities to be regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and securities to be regulated by the SEC,” Behnam detailed.

The CFTC boss noted that within the crypto space, there will be some coins that are securities and some that are commodities.

When asked to comment on SEC Chairman Gary Gensler’s claim that most of the crypto tokens out there are securities, Behnam stressed that the largest cryptocurrencies are commodities. He emphasized:

Well, I can say for sure bitcoin … is a commodity. Ether as well.

Admitting that there may be a lot of security coins, the CFTC chief noted, “there are plenty of community coins.” He clarified: “I think it makes sense that each agency has jurisdiction over commodities and securities respectively.”

The CFTC chairman was asked whether there is any disagreement between the two agencies. “I wouldn’t say there is disagreement,” he replied, emphasizing that each agency tries to do what’s best.

Commenting on the crypto market sell-off last week, Behnam said:

A lot of people got hurt. A lot of value was lost in the market, and there really are no customer protections right now.

He concluded that both the CFTC and the SEC want to regulate the crypto sector “thoughtfully,” protect customers, and protect financial stability.

Bitcoin gaat nooit verboden worden in de VS, zo blijkt maar weer uit bovenstaande bericht. Maar dat was eigenlijk al jaren duidelijk.

Maar wat als je niet beschermd wilt worden door de CFTC, SEC en al die anderen?

Ik vind het op zich terecht dat de cryptomarkt gereguleerd gaat worden, dat hou je ook niet tegen. De Alt community heeft dit over zichzelf afgeroepen door de vele scams en bs projecten op Ethereum (ERC 20 tokens). Terecht dat daar weer geld uitstroomt richting Bitcoin.

Hoe gaat dat eruit zien dan? Zoals nu, wanneer mensen in de VS in heel veel minder projecten mogen investeren dan anderen, of niet mogen kopen bij een hele serie cryptobeurzen? Zoiets zal het dan wel worden. Is gelukkig eenvoudig te omzeilen en daarmee een wassen neus, zoals de meeste toezicht & regulering.

Hier nog even een herinnering aan het niveau van onze financiële elite. Bitcoin is waardeloos, onze nieuwe CBDC die gaat pas waardevol zijn! Hoe de ECB waarde gaat toekennen blijft vooralsnog onduidelijk.

Ik heb mw. Lagarde, veroordeelde crimineel die om 1 of andere onduidelijke reden toch nog de ECB mag runnen, net zo laag zitten als jij. Maar we kunnen gewoon niet om regulering heen, nu we met 20.000+ altcoins zitten + bijbehorende cowboys die doen wat ze willen.
De meeste van die altcoins zijn helemaal niet decentraal. ERC 20 tokens op het proof of stake principe kunnen makkelijk gemanipuleerd worden door degenen die de meeste tokens bezitten, dat zijn in 99 van de honderd gevallen de oprichters zelf, wat is daar decentraal aan?
Dus de 'power to the people' propaganda die je ziet op de fancy websites betekent eigenlijk 'power to the major stakeholders'.
De crypto community heeft zich op dit moment door hebzucht in een positie gebracht die onhoudbaar is, en dit is een mooi handvat voor regulerende instanties.
Ook Buterin gaat twijfelen aan zijn eigen creatie Ethereum, zo blijkt uit een aantal recente tweets:

'Contradiction between my love for things like decentralization and democracy, and my realization that in practice I agree with intellectual elites more than "the people" on many (though definitely far from all) specific policy issues.'

'Contradiction between my desire to see Ethereum become a more Bitcoin-like system emphasizing long-term stability and stability, including culturally, and my realization that getting there requires quite a lot of active coordinated short-term change.'

'Contradiction between my preference for reducing reliance on individuals and trying to build fixed systems that can stand the test of time and my appreciation of "live players" and their role in helping the world move forward.'

PlanB heeft aan zijn S2F geknutseld en is tot de conclusie gekomen dat zijn meest oorspronkelijke model uit 2019 toch het beste werkt. Op een gegeven moment waren er drie S2F modellen van hem in omloop, elke keer met hogere voorspellingen voor BTC. Hij is inmiddels wat gekalmeerd en heeft zijn oorspronkelijk model afgestoft wat, mind you, nog altijd naar een gemiddelde prijs van 500k$ wijst na de halvering in 2024.

@DZR , klopt voornamelijk millennials die nooit gewerkt hebben en snel rijk willen worden.
Toen ik jong was ging ik nogal eens naar het casino, want ik wilde ook snel rijk worden.
Uiteindelijk was werken toch rendabeler, tja zullen die kids toch moeten leren nix voor nix in het leven ;-)
