Inverko Compounding (“Inverko Compounding” or the “Company”) is one of the leading plastic recycling companies in the Netherlands with production facilities based in Emmen. The Company is one of the leading operators in the Netherlands that converts plastic household waste in a homogenous compound that is used by the plastics industry as a basic material for the production of a a large variety of plastic products, including, amongst others, horticultural pots, waterpipes, and crates. The Company has a total annual production capacity of approximately 24,000 metric tonnes.
Inverko Compounding specializes in the conversion of polypropylene (PP) plastic waste in recyclate. PP represents a large proportion of the increasing amount of household waste that has become available for recycling.
Sequoia acquired the business and production facilities of what now is Inverko Compounding in a 50/50 partnership with H.J. Alssema Beheer and its subsidiary, Inverko Polymers, a major, specialized trading company of recycled plastics, from Plastinum, a US publicly-traded plastic recycling company, that had got into severe financial difficulties in August 2011.
After the acquisition of the business and production facilities, Inverko Compounding completely restructured the operations by refocusing the primary production process on recycling PP household waste, making the production process more flexible, scaling up the production facilities, and investing in new state-of-the-art production machinery.
