Mooi is dat. Waarom zouden ze dit doen? Ze hebben toch redelijk wat kapitaal zou je zeggen. Hoe hard verwachten jullie dat de koers zal duikelen, 5 tot 10 procent ofzo, gezien de market cap van 4.9 miljard?

De helft van de geplande kapitaalverhoging is al binnen, meldt het Gentse biotechbedrijf woensdagavond.

Argenx AH681-1,10% , dat noteert op Euronext en Nasdaq, ontwikkelt therapieën tegen auto-immuunziektes en kanker. Het lanceerde woensdagavond een kapitaalverhoging van 450 miljoen dollar, circa 405,8 miljoen euro.

De Schotse vermogensbeheerder Baillie Gifford zal al de helft van het beoogde vers geld - 199 miljoen euro - op tafel leggen, blijkt uit de mededeling.

Argenx liet onlangs weten dat het op schema zit met zijn jongste patiëntenstudies van efgartigimod, zijn potentiële goudhaantje. De Gentenaars hadden eind september 923 miljoen euro in kas. Dit mede dankzij de monsterdeal rond kankeronderzoek die Argenx eind vorig jaar sloot met Johnson & Johnson. De Amerikaanse reus spijsde in het kader van die deal de Argenx-kas met 300 miljoen dollar, voor een licentie op cusatuzumab. De vele cash is nodig om de hoge kosten te financieren van de klinische testen om de werking van zijn potentiële medicijnen te bewijzen, die zeker in de derde en laatste fase fors kunnen oplopen.

Van de 400milj. Hebben ze de helft al verkocht, en die worden verkocht tegen de prijs waar nog geen consensus over is. Dat wil wel zeggen dat er goede vraag naar is.

Breda, the Netherlands / Ghent, Belgium – argenx (Euronext & Nasdaq: ARGX), a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing a deep pipeline of differentiated antibody-based therapies for the treatment of severe autoimmune diseases and cancer, announced today the pricing of a global offering of ordinary shares in the form of American Depository Shares (ADSs) in the United States and certain other countries outside of European Economic Area and a simultaneous private placement of ordinary shares in the European Economic Area. The Company anticipates total gross proceeds of $484 million (approximately €437 million) from the sale of 1,410,057 ADSs at a price of $121.00 per ADS and the sale of 2,589,943 ordinary shares at a price of €109.18 per ordinary share. Each of the ADSs offered in the offering represents the right to receive one ordinary share, nominal value of €0.10 per share.

In addition, argenx has granted the underwriters of the offering a 30-day option to purchase up to 600,000 ordinary shares (which may be in the form of ADSs) on the same terms and conditions. The U.S. offering and the European private placement are currently expected to close simultaneously on November 12, 2019, subject to customary closing conditions. On this timing, due to a public holiday in the United States, November 12, 2019 would count as T+2 settlement in the United States and a T+3 settlement for investors that purchase ordinary shares traded on Euronext Brussels. Accordingly, investors purchasing ordinary shares traded on Euronext Brussels should be aware that if they transact in the secondary market on T (November 7, 2019) they may not be able to settle those transactions on a T+2 basis, because they would only receive ordinary shares from argenx on a T+3 basis on November 12, 2019.

argenx’s ADSs are currently listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol “ARGX,” and argenx’s ordinary shares are currently listed on Euronext Brussels under the symbol “ARGX.”

(ABM FN) Argen-X heeft woensdag met succes 484 miljoen dollar, ofwel 437 miljoen euro, opgehaald met een aandelenemissie. Dit maakte het biofarmaceutische bedrijf donderdagochtend bekend.

Argen-X wilde 450 miljoen dollar ophalen.

De Amerikaanse aandelen werden verkochte aan 121,00 dollar per stuk en de gewone aandelen aan 109,18 euro.

Morgan Stanley, Cowen, BofA Securities en Evercore hebben de emissie begeleid. Zij kunnen nog eens 600.000 aandelen plaatsen.

Baillie Gifford Overseas Limited en bijbehorende entiteiten hebben vooraf aangegeven aandelen te willen kopen tot een maximum bedrag van 220 miljoen dollar, of omgerekend 199 miljoen euro, aldus Argen-X.

Bij de laatste kwartaalcijfers op 24 oktober zei Argen-X dat het op 30 september 923 miljoen euro in kas had.

Ik sta sinds gisteren terug in het groen met m'n laatste ArgenX-trades, dan dit weer. :-)
Gezien de context vermoed ik echter geen grote impact op de koers. Over enkele maanden halen we wellicht een nieuwe ATH.

Ik snap het niet helemaal er was toch nog genoeg geld om de komende jaren door te komen?

Of moet ik het zo zien dat een partij in 1 keer een flinke positie krijgt in Argenx met korting.

Het is meer dat ze makkelijker geld kunnen ophalen zolang het nog niet 5 voor 12 is. Zo kunnen ze ook niet onder druk worden gezet om de prijs te ver te laten zakken.

Een dikke 1,5 miljard in de kassa, cash is king in de biotech, beter zo dan telkens te moeten gaan bedelen als de kas leeg is

Gala deed dit ook telkens. Geld ophalen bij hoge koers, niet pas als het nodig is, want dan is het te laat (lees: staat de koers te laag).
Goed bezig dus en dat het zo snel tegen zo weinig korting is gelukt, is een teken van vertrouwen. Dit gaat Gala achterna.
Ik ga nog even dik inslaan, de komende tijd.
