Wees voorzichtig luchtschip, als je de toorn van asti afroept kom je op een lijst en worden al je posts gearchiveerd (hij noemt dat 'goed geheugen') en begint het grote stalken. En dat kan jaren en jaren duren. Soms lijkt het over, maar net als andere virussen rust hij een tijdje en komt ineens weer boven. Soort koortslip, maar dan minder prettig.
En je denkt dat je er aan went, maar nee, zo werkt het niet.

Dat laatste ga ik niet zeggen, omdat het niet mijn mening is. Dat - en volgens mij veel meer - zit alleen maar tussen je oren.

Zo nu en dan geef ik een inhoudelijke mening over de Amerikaanse president Trump. Zijn beleid, en in mindere mate de persoon. En daarbij reageer ik ook op een heel klein percentage van de berichten van een tweetal dat hier heel prominent aanwezig is.

Waar ik je in ieder geval van kan verzekeren is dat ik probeer om nooit te beginnen met persoonlijke reacties richting iemand. Sterker nog, als persoonlijke reacties naar mij worden gericht, dan probeer ik eerst (een periode) ontwapenend te reageren en/of de persoon te negeren.

Om terug te komen op de discussie Trump. Je hebt het beleid van de Amerikaanse president en je hebt de persoon van de Amerikaanse president, waarbij een en ander natuurlijk met elkaar samenhangt. Zowel het beleid als de persoon is niet alleen maar goed of alleen maar slecht. En je moet je beseffen dat hij democratisch gekozen is door de bevolking van een - voor de meeste van ons - ander land.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said Monday afternoon that the police officers involved along with National Guard personnel in the early morning shooting of the owner of a West End barbecue business had not activated their body cameras during the incident.

Fischer also said that Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve Conrad, who had already announced his resignation in May, has been fired, and that a nightly 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. curfew has been extended to June 8.

Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered Kentucky State Police to investigate the early Monday fatal shooting of the owner of a West End barbecue business by Louisville Metro Police and National Guard.

And the governor said that he wants video and body camera footage from the incident to be released "before nightfall."

Trump considering a move to invoke Insurrection Act

It would be the first time the act to deploy U.S. troops was invoked since the 1992 Rodney King protests.

President Donald Trump could announce as early as Monday night that he’s invoking a 213-year-old federal law that would allow him to deploy active-duty U.S. troops to respond to protests in cities across the country, according to four people familiar with the decision.

The military police forces would come from Fort Bragg in North Carolina and possibly Fort Belvoir in Virginia and could arrive in Washington within hours, these people said.

Trump’s decision to invoke the Insurrection Act, adopted in 1807, to deploy troops comes as his frustrations mount over the protests that have followed the death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed in police custody last week in Minneapolis. The people familiar with his decision said he was angry Sunday night at the destruction protestors caused in Washington, particularly the vandalization of national monuments.

Some of the president’s aides have been encouraging him for days to invoke the act, as he weighs options for exercising executive powers to address the crisis. The act was last invoked during the 1992 Rodney King riots in Los Angeles.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment for this article but at a briefing with reporters Monday, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany left open the possibility that the president could invoke the act.

“The Insurrection Act, it’s one of the tools available, whether the president decides to pursue that, that’s his prerogative,“ McEnany said.

Governors can ask that the federal government send active duty troops to help in cases of civil unrest like the widespread protests plaguing U.S. cities over the last several days. But, so far, no governor has requested active duty troops to assist and instead they have relied on local law enforcement and National Guard soldiers and airmen on state active duty.
