Of course, if you still don't realize the "cloud technology" is, roughly speaking, just a last century technology (that some people are trying to sell you now) --> i.e. just a "data-storage" (library) on a large (central) server, instead of your own PC --> then you should certainly go on with paying/investing in last century.

If you take the storage angle, yes, but not if you take computing as the angle. That is where chip performance comes into play, AWS Lambda ,for example, will prove to be even more successful when performance is scaled quicker.
