Het was al weer een tijdje geleden dat Colossus met goed nieuws kwam, vandaag is dan de dag:

Toronto, Ontario, March 24, 2011 – Colossus Minerals Inc. (the “Company” or “Colossus”) (TSX: CSI) today announced that it has encountered additional high-grade mineralization in initial results from a new 25,000 metre surface drill program at the Serra Pelada Gold-Platinum-Palladium Project, the Colossus-COOMIGASP Joint Venture located in Para State, Brazil.

HIGHLIGHTS

* SPD-095 intersected three high grade subzones in the Central Mineralized Zone (“CMZ”), including:
1.80 metres at 63.83 g/t gold, 3.37 g/t platinum and 3.92 g/t palladium
6.93 metres at 59.66 g/t gold, 70.68 g/t platinum and 45.95 g/t palladium
7.81 metres at 136.43 g/t gold, 294.20 g/t platinum and 121.40 g/t palladium

* The latter two subzones exhibit the highest grades of platinum so far encountered in Colossus drilling at the Serra Pelada Project and are open to the northeast and southwest

* SPD-086A extends the GT zone 75 metres to the northeast toward the Western Zone and also exhibits high platinum grades and a high platinum/palladium ratio, including 1.50 metres at 22.25 g/t platinum plus 1.34 g/t palladium

* SPD-089 included 14.00 g/t gold over 1.14 metres approximate true thickness and demonstrated a lateral strike of approximately 15 metres for the high grade core of the Portal Zone in its vicinity.

Van de site van Colossus:

In order to further define the Serra Pelada deposit an underground exploration development program was initiated in mid 2010. The purpose of this underground development will allow Colossus Minerals Inc. to better define the deposit through underground diamond drilling. The development will also allow for a bulk sample to be collected and sampled to better define the gold and PGM grades of the deposit.

e underground decline is being driven using a 60 ton Voest Alpine Roadheader. Roadheader technology was chosen over conventional underground drill and blast mining because of the low compressive strength (UCS = 10 to 15MPa) and relative competency of the meta-siltstone rock that the decline will be driven in. Roadheaders when working in ground that is conducive to their use typically have advance rates of more than double that of conventional drill and blast operations. The roadheader will cut a tunnel 5 meters wide and 5.5 meters tall with a full arched roof. Mined waste will be loaded into haul trucks and brought to surface for disposal. It is expected that the first underground exploration drilling will occur during the second quarter of 2011.

Met andere woorden: Ze graven nu een gang en gaan vanuit die gang nogmaals ondergronds drillen. De kosten van drillen zullen dan wel niet zo hoog meer uitvallen en er kan meer en korter worden geboord.

De mijn zal in 2012 in productie komen, in 2011 zal er al proef worden gedraaid met productie van 2500 ton materiaal uit de mijn. De uitkomst hiervan zal in hoge mate bepalen hoe rendabel de mijn zal zijn. Ik ben erg nieuwgierig naar de uitkomsten hiervan.
Inmiddels is er een tweedehands -maar in uitstekende conditie- ball-mill gekocht die nu naar het terrein wordt vervoerd.

Toronto, Ontario, April 26, 2011 – Colossus Minerals Inc. (the “Company” or “Colossus”)(TSX: CSI) is pleased to announce additional assay results from the 25,000 metre surface drilling program at the Serra Pelada Gold-Platinum-Palladium Project, the Colossus-COOMIGASP Joint Venture located in Para State, Brazil.

HIGHLIGHTS

* SPD-099 intersected two high-grade subzones in the Central Mineralized Zone (“CMZ”), including:

7.30 metres at 1494.7 g/t gold, 516.6 g/t platinum and 558.9 g/t palladium and
4.35 metres at 37.39 g/t gold, 2.75 g/t platinum and 3.56 g/t palladium

* The more westerly of these subzones exhibits the highest grades of gold+platinum+palladium so far encountered in Colossus drilling at the Serra Pelada Project

* These subzones correlate with, and significantly extend, the high-grade gold-PGE subzones encountered in SPD-095 (7.81 metres @ 136.43 g/t gold, 294.20 g/t platinum and 121.40 g/t palladium)

* SPD-096 shows that the GT zone around Section 100NE is more than 20 metres wide and contains high-grade gold and platinum-rich mineralization in iron oxide-rich breccias, including 1.2 metres at36.0 g/t gold, 11.5 g/t platinum and 1.2 g/t palladium.

“Drilling such high-grade gold, platinum and palladium approximately 700 metres down plunge from the outcrop of the Central Mineralized Zone in the historic Serra Pelada pit continues to demonstrate the robustness of this mineralized system,” commented Ari Sussman, Colossus CEO. “We wait with great anticipation for early 2012 when construction of the underground decline advances to the point that enables the Company to see the Central Mineralized Zone first hand and extract the first of three 2,500 tonne bulk samples from it.”

Wat een getallen en wat een high grades. Helaas heeft de koers de laatste tijd niet veel gedaan. Onder het motto "geduld is een schone zaak" heb ik mijn aandeeltjes gewoon aangehouden. In Frankfurt gaat er € 0.05 op de koers op dit bericht. Ben benieuwd of Toronto wat meer waardering kan uitspreken over deze resultaten.

Dit is weer een onwaarschijnlijk goeie drilling, eigenlijk nog nooit zoiets gezien in deze combi van alle 3 edelste metalen, met dit soort grades... en dan over 7,30 meter...

We are pleased to report that Colossus continues to make excellent progress with its metallurgical process testing at Serra Pelada. The latest metallurgical testing (the results of which were released in December) has resulted in the production of a sizeable gold button (0.62 grams, pictured).

Metallurgical testing of Serra Pelada core samples continues to confirm the amenability of CMZ mineralization to the gravity plus intensive cyanidation process and further validates our previously released gold recovery parameters. As part of the gravity process testing, several composite samples of gravity concentrate, and high grade core from SPD-113 (74.40 metres at 31.17 g/t gold, 3.02 g/t platinum and 6.78 g/t palladium) were tested for amenability to intensive cyanidation and electrowinning. The 0.62 gram gold button was recovered from these tests.

We are currently progressing well with detailed design of the gravity process announced in December 2011. Sourcing of critical process facility equipment is well underway and construction is on-track with previously released milestones.

We look forward to reporting the final intensive cyanidation results once they become available as well as providing a further update on construction and development

Bovenstaand stukje komt uit de financiële Telegraaf. Wellicht erg interessante ontwikkeling om juist niet in Palladium producenten te duiken. Ik ben in ieder geval flink geschrokken en heb mijn studie over aankoop van North American Palladium aandelen voorlopig in de ijskast gestoken.
