Tijdens de CES werd Here groot gebracht als partner bij dit platform. Hier wordt gesproken over nieuwe partners dus het zou nog kunnen dat TT nu is toegevoegd naast Here. Zo niet dan is dit mega nieuws want dan heeft TT Here verdrongen en dat zou wat over de techniek van Here zeggen.

Given last month's $500m General Motors-Lyft partnership as well as speculation about a Google-Ford collaboration, it looks like US car manufacturers are ready to invest more in highly-automated driving than ever before.

In that light, TomTom's highly-automated driving, or HAD, maps can been viewed as a pitch to US automakers to get them to pick TomTom as their map supplier.

TomTom CEO Harold Goddijn openly admitted last month he was looking to join forces with companies in the automated car industry.

"TomTom is more excited than ever about the prospect of partnering with members of the HAD ecosystem to expedite the innovation that will transform the automotive industry and the way we drive," Goddijn said in a statement.

For infotainment, there are several new options, including either a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen located on the dash. Through this unit, Kia offers its Connected Services and satellite navigation, with TomTom providing stuff like real-time traffic updates, the location of speed cameras, live alerts, and weather forecasts. European buyers will get seven years of free service after the initial vehicle purchase.

Today at the MWC 2016, the company announced 10 new workflow, content and data service providers for the company’s Open Service Delivery Platform for the connected car. These service providers can provide automakers and drivers with a wide range of accurate, context-based and relevant services including real-time traffic and location based services, shopping, parking, streaming audio and live news. Service providers include TomTom, Parkopedia, AccuWeather, Yelp, INRIX, CustomWeather, Deezer, AccuRadio, Wcities, and NPR. The new services will be available to automakers for their connected car configurations.

Dit is de resultante van de toenaderingen die we zo'n 2,5 jaar geleden zagen en waarschijnlijk die schaalbare HTML5 versie van de NavKit. Waarschijnlijk ligt er ook een link met het eerdere persbericht over TomTom's samenwerking met Luxoft.

Navigatiekaartenmaker TomTom gaat samenwerken met het Zwitserse IT-bedrijf Luxoft bij de verdere ontwikkeling van AllView, een platform voor communicatie tussen elektronische apparaten in auto's. De navigatiesoftware van TomTom, NavKit, wordt geïntegreerd in AllView. Dit meldt TomTom woensdag. Financiële details over de samenwerking zijn niet bekendgemaakt.

Het wereldwijd opererende Luxoft werkt momenteel met Ford aan de ontwikkeling van een navigatiesysteem dat contact kan maken met mobiele telefoons. Een passagier kan de bestuurder hierdoor tijdens de rit van extra verkeersinformatie voorzien.

Lijkt inderdaad op opties naast elkaar. Ik weet wel nog dat dit een van de CES-nieuwtjes was waar ik niet zo blij van werd, omdat dat exclusiviteit van HERE suggereerde.

Wat me opvalt, is dat iedereen zo zenuwachtig zit te doen, als de koers niet stijgt.

Als je nou kunt beredeneren wat de WAARDE is, dan is het toch juist mooi om lager bij te kopen?

Als je een jaar moet wachten op 25% dan is dat toch niet verkeerd? Geneve begint 3 maart, dus waar doen we moeilijk over?

Bepaal je strategie en houd focus, maar stuur wel bij.
Geen nieuws tijdens Geneve, dan kunnen we misschien omlaag. Meer aandelen voor hetzelfde geld. Mooi toch?

Stijgt het wel dat zijn er ook kansen. Het kan rond de 9 blijven hangen bij een minder grote deal of we kunnen weer de 12 op gaan zoeken. Heb je de aandelen in porto dan tikt dat toch aan.

En de premie op otm geschreven calls en puts is nooit verkeerd hoor, een rendementje kun je makkelijk halen, maar voor de echte klapfert, moet je permanent long zitten. Ik zie het probleem niet, maar je moet je strategie blijven volgen.

Connected-car is een vrij nieuwe markt, maar alles schuift die kant op. Binnenkort is alles connected en komen er 100 miljoen stuks per jaar bij. Hier kun je puzzelen met verkoopaantallen per merk:

Even ruwweg uit mijn hoofd:
-GM, Toyota en VWGroup (incl. Audi) zijn zo'n beetje even groot. Rond de 10 miljoen auto's per jaar. Renault-Nissan zit daar met 9 miljoen vlak achter.

-Daarna komen partijen als Hyunday-KIA (8), Ford (6 miljoen) en Fiat-Chrysler (5 miljoen).

-Daimler (3 miljoen), Peugeot-Citroen (3 miljoen) en BMW (2,5 miljoen) zitten daar weer onder.

BMW, Mercedes en Audi hebben HERE gekocht en dat heet met een mooi woord verticale integratie (het kopen van een leverancier).

Ik heb toen HERE werd overgenomen gevraagd aan Investor Relations van Harman of zij bang zijn voor die verticale integratie. Want als de drie Duitsers HERE gaan gebruiken voor infotainment dan hebben ze minder diensten nodig van tussenschakels als Harman. Dit kan een move van Harman richting TomTom verklaren.

Een andere reden is denk ik dat Harmen dankzij een overname technologie heeft voor OTA (over the air) updates. En TomTom levert tegenwoordig kaarten die je over the air kunt updaten. Harman noemt specifiek in haar persbericht de keuze voor TomTom vanwege "incremental map updates" (incremental = stapsgewijs)

Harman wil denk ik niet te diep met HERE samenwerken nu sinds kort blijkt dat de drie Duitsers toch HERE van dichterbij besturen dan ze zeiden. (dat zeiden ze totdat ze van de autoriteiten toestemming kregen voor de overname). Het bewijs daarvan is dat direct na de toestemming het HERE management werd vervangen, inclusief Sean Fernback.
