Een anonieme Oekraïense regeringsfunctionaris meldt aan The New York Times dat een Oekraïense militaire elite-eenheid, die achter de vijandelijke linies opereerde, verantwoordelijk was voor de ontploffing. Oekraïne heeft nog niet officieel gereageerd op de vermeende betrokkenheid bij de aanval.

Een paar uur na de explosies had Andri Jermak, de stafchef van de Oekraïense president Volodymyr Zelensky, op Twitter al wel gehint op een Oekraïense rol in de gebeurtenissen. Het leger van zijn land blijft zich inzetten ‘om ons land volledig te ontdoen van Russische indringers’, schreef hij. ‘De Krim is Oekraïne.’ Ook de Oekraïense luchtmacht zinspeelde via Twitter op betrokkenheid door een video van de explosie nabij Dzjanko te delen.

Ondertussen heeft het Russische leger, een klein halfjaar nadat het de grootschalige invasie in Oekraïne begon, de Zwarte Zee nog allerminst onder controle. Volgens de inlichtingendiensten van het Verenigd Koninkrijk heeft Rusland het merendeel van zijn oorlogsschepen zelfs teruggetrokken tot de kustlijn van de Krim. De vloot zou de Russische grondsoldaten enkel met langeafstandsraketten ondersteunen.

De afgelopen maanden leed het Russische leger in de strijd op en rondom het water al enkele pijnlijke nederlagen. Zo trok het zich eind juni halsoverkop terug van Slangeneiland, een stuk rots dat ongeveer 200 kilometer ten westen van de Krim ligt en niet alleen grote strategische, maar ook symbolische waarde had. In april wist Oekraïne al totaal onverwacht het vlaggenschip van de Russische vloot, de Moskva, tot zinken te brengen.

Russische vrouwen die tien of meer kinderen baren, krijgen weer de eretitel Moeder-Heldin. President Vladimir Poetin geeft nieuw leven aan de titel, die ook al in de Sovjet-Unie werd gebruikt. Volgens het staatspersbureau TASS krijgen de Moeder-Heldinnen ook een beloning van 1 miljoen roebel, zo’n 16.000 euro.

De onderscheiding werd ingevoerd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog om het aantal geboortes te stimuleren. Na het uiteenvallen van de Sovjet-Unie heeft de Russische overheid de titel afgeschaft.

Nu wordt de titel weer ingevoerd tijdens een andere oorlog, veroorzaakt door de Russische invasie in Oekraïne. Om Moeder-Heldin te zijn, moeten de vrouw en haar (minstens) tien kinderen wel Russische staatsburgers zijn. Gemiddeld wordt er in Rusland per vrouw maar 1,5 kind geboren.

Wanneer een van de kinderen sneuveld aan het front krijgt ze er nog een LADA bovenop. Met een beetje geluk kan de moeder-heldin dus 10 of meer LADA'S verwerven. Hun echtgenoten oefenen zich nu al volop op onschuldige Oekraïense vrouwen tijdens de verplichte les . Hoe verkracht je een buitenlandse vrouw !

LONDON (Reuters) -A Russian state news agency said on Tuesday that Russia and Turkey had signed a contract to ship Ankara a second batch of S-400 air defence systems, but a Turkish defence official immediately cast doubt on the report.

TASS news agency cited the head of Russia's military cooperation service, Dmitry Shugayev, as saying: "I want to note that the relevant contract has already been signed. It envisions the localisation of production of certain components of the system."

Turkey's initial 2020 purchase of the Russian S-400 system angered the United States, a NATO ally, which imposed sanctions on Turkey in retaliation.

A Turkish defence official said on Tuesday there were "no new agreements".

Ukraine Says Russia’s ‘Billion Dollar’ Defense System Crumbling Against US HIMARS

Top Ukrainian official has claimed that Russia’s most advanced S-400 air defense system is unable to intercept rockets fired by the American-made M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).

Anton Gerashchenko, the Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, said in a tweet on July 11 that Russian S-400 anti-aircraft defense systems cannot intercept HIMARS rockets.

Gerashchenko did not provide any specifics relating to the failure of the S-400 system against the HIMARS rockets. Still, he said, “Russian Armed Forces, their ammunition and fuel warehouses are unprotected from the power of American weapons.”

Gerashchenko possibly referred to the series of Ukrainian attacks in recent days on several Russian arms depots in Donetsk, Lysychansk, and Kherson, etc., using the HIMARS MLRS system provided by the US.

Shortly before Gerashchenko made his claims, a Ukrainian portal reported that the S-400 could not shoot down a single HIMARS rocket either in Donbas, Zaporizhzhia, or Kherson regions.

Censor.NET reported that during an attack on a Russian military facility in Khartsyzk in Donetsk, a HIMARS rocket even destroyed the S-400 complex.

So far, there is no documented instance of the S-400 system deployed in Ukraine. In April, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have used its S-400 system to knock down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter, 30 kilometers inside Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, close to the border with Russia.

Ik wilde altijd al tien kinderen, maar heb nooit een Lada geambieerd. Liever geen slachtoffers op het slagveld, een Lada op de oprit ook niet, dunkt me.
