Adanac Molybdenum Corporation: Court Grants Sanction Order Approving Plan of Arrangement
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2010) - Adanac Molybdenum Corporation ("Adanac" or the "Company") (TSX:AUA)(PINK SHEETS:AUAYF)(FRANKFURT:A9N) is pleased to announce that the British Columbia Supreme Court (the "Court") made an order (the "Sanction Order") today sanctioning the Company's plan of compromise and arrangement (the "Plan") pursuant to section 6 of the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (Canada) (the "CCAA") and section 291(4) of the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia).

Upon the satisfaction or waiver of remaining conditions precedent to the Plan, Adanac will implement the Plan in accordance with its terms and the Sanction Order, including, among other things, by making distributions of cash or shares to its affected creditors in satisfaction of Adanac's obligations to those creditors.

MOLY Mines has been severely punished by investors after the company warned that its Chinese shareholder had stalled financing for its flagship project.

The iron ore miner and molybdenum hopeful also flagged that projected revenue from its Spinifex Ridge project is forecast to fall as a result of the strong Australian dollar.

Shares in the Perth-based company fell 21.7 per cent yesterday to close at $1.10, after the company said it would not have access to a $US466 million ($468m) funding facility by the end of the month, as had been expected.

"The ability of the company to complete the Spinifex Ridge Molybdenum-Copper project financing process will likely be dependent on an improvement in both the foreign exchange outlook and molybdenum prices above current levels," company secretary Andrew Worland said in a statement.

Moly Mines, which is developing the Spinifex Ridge project in Western Australia, said its 55 per cent shareholder -- China's Hanlong Mining Investment -- had advised the facility would not be ready when expected, leading the non-Hanlong directors of Moly Mines to seek legal advice.

The market will be updated on the financing facility before January 31. The molybdenum hopeful also flagged in a statement yesterday that its Spinifex Ridge project had been negatively affected by the strong appreciation in the Australian dollar against the US dollar.

"The appreciation in the Australian dollar has resulted in a projected decrease in future project revenues measured in Australian dollars at December 31, by up to 25 per cent," Mr Worland said.

Western Copper Initiates Drilling at Casino
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 26, 2010) - Western Copper Corporation ("Western Copper" or the "Company") (TSX:WRN) is pleased to announce commencement of a 15,000 meter diamond drilling program at its wholly owned Casino gold-copper-molybdenum project located in the Yukon.

The 2010 exploration program complements and continues last year's drilling program. The aim of the program is to expand the resource by converting in-pit waste to ore and to provide data to improve the geological model of the deposit.

The 11,000 metres drilled during 2009 indicated a significant expansion of the known area of mineralization within the currently defined pit outline as defined in the 2008 pre-feasibility study, and discovered a new molybdenum zone (see news release dated November 18, 2009).

"2010 is shaping to be a crucial year for the Casino project," said Dale Corman, Chairman & CEO of Western Copper. "At completion of the exploration program, we will update the reserve and use this information, together with expanded engineering studies, to update the pre-feasibility study. We anticipate that the exploration program will expand the reserve, lower the strip ratio and better define the technical parameters of the pit."

The Casino project is located 380 km northwest of Whitehorse, Yukon and has a NI 43-101 compliant reserve estimate containing 8 million oz of gold, 4.4 billion lb of copper, and 475 million lb of molybdenum, contained in approximately 1 billion tonnes of ore.

These days the shares of Adanac Molybdenum Corp. (TSE:AUA, AUA message board), (PINK:AUAYF) made substantial progress in terms of value. Only yesterday they appreciated by exactly 22.22% on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE) and on the American OTC market. This performance comes just as the company filed with SEDAR its audited financial reports for the fiscal year ended Apr. 2010 and also its unaudited interim financial statements for the years ended July 2010 and Oct. 2010, respectively.

On the TSE, the stock doubled its price over a week, closing yesterday at $0.110 per share. During the session it marked a 6-month high of $0.115 as well. What is more, this run-up was confirmed by a heavy trading volume that surpassed five times the usual for the company turnover during the last month.

The filed financial reports reveal some worrying for Adanac Molybdenum results. At the end of October 2010, the company's total liabilities outweigh its total assets by almost $46M. The net loss for the quarter was over $7.5M and there was a negative cash flow from operating activities amounting $729K, which is almost 56% higher than the one for the corresponding quarter in 2009. If there is something encouraging, this is the available cash of $6.5M. At the end of October it was about $2.3M.

Gelukkig had ik ze gekocht op ca 4 cent en nu grotendeels verkocht op ca 10/11 cent.

Vanwege het faillissement krijgen de schuldeisers ca 97% van de aandelen en de bestaande aandeelhouders dus 3%.
De koersstijging heeft in ieder geval te maken met de aanstaande opheffing van het faillissement.
De omgerekende nieuwe market cap is ca 400 miljoen.

De radioactieve isotoop 99Mo wordt in de isotopenindustrie gebruikt. In 2008 is een patent aangevraagd voor de productie van het synthetische radio-isotoop technetium-99m op basis van molybdeen-98.[2]

In China is vandaag mijnbouwmiljardair Liu Han geëxecuteerd. Hij was in mei 2014 veroordeeld wegens meervoudige moord, het leiden van een criminele organisatie en andere misdrijven. In 2011 deed Liu een bod op het Australische mijnbouwconcern Sundance Resources.

Tegelijkertijd met Liu Han werden ook zijn broer Liu Wei en drie andere verdachten geëxecuteerd, nadat hun hoger beroep was afgewezen.De vijf werden ervan beschuldigd een 'mafia-achtig imperium' te hebben geleid, schrijven diverse persbureaus.

Liu Han zou nauwe banden hebben onderhouden met Zhou Yongkang, een Chinese politicus, die tot voor kort de scepters zwaaide over het nationale veiligheidsapparaat en de provincie Sichuan waar de basis van Liu Hans zakenimperium gevestigd was. Inmiddels is Zhou, die in december werd geaarresteerd, het middelpunt van een enorm onderzoek naar corruptie.

Liu Wei stond aan het hoofd van het niet beursgenoteerde Hanlong, dat in 2011 meer dan $1 miljard bood voor het Australische ijzerertsbedrijf Sundance Resources. Die overname ging uiteindelijk niet door omdat de Chinezen in 2013 afhaakten. Daarvoor had Liu al een 55% belang genomen in een ander Australisch mijnbouwbedrijf, Moly Mines genomen, dat onder meer mijnen in Australië en de Verenigde Staten bezit.
